Traditional employment quickly became incompatible with the demands of her family life. The rigid structures of nine-to-five work, the expectation of constant availability, and the lack of understanding about carers’ realities left her excluded from the professional world she had once imagined for herself. But rather than accepting that exclusion, Charlie set out to build something different - a workstyle that fitted around her responsibilities while still allowing her to grow, contribute, and thrive.
Her first step was to share her story. What began as a blog about parenting, resilience, and acceptance evolved into a powerful platform. Through speaking engagements, writing, and coaching, Charlie reached thousands of people who saw themselves in her journey.
