Together Co is a Brighton-based social health and loneliness charity that lives its values from the inside out. Its belief in connection extends to every member of the team - creating a culture where people feel trusted, supported, and genuinely free to shape how they work. The organisation recognises that every member of staff has different needs, responsibilities, and working preferences. 

Employees are given time autonomy - choosing the hours they work to suit their circumstances - and place autonomy - choosing whether to work from the central city co-working office when they want networking and social connection, or from home or other remote locations when this better supports their health or caring responsibilities. 

For example, one member of staff (in a non-frontline role) is able to change which day they work depending on how they are feeling in order to best manage their health condition. 

Staff are empowered to deliver on their commitments in the way that works best for them, whilst understanding the balance of also meeting the organisational needs and the specific responsibilities of their role. This creates a culture of mutual respect. Employees know they are trusted to make the right choices, and in turn they consistently deliver excellent work for the organisation.

Together Co prioritises staff wellbeing as central to its success. This includes monthly reflective practice sessions for all frontline staff, regular individual team meetings to collaborate and connect, and quarterly all-staff gatherings in person that combine strategy and fun. 

Together Co regularly measures staff engagement through quarterly ‘pulse check’ surveys. The results speak volumes:
